Employers watch out!
Last night was my second year running as a judge for the Staffordshire University CV competition. Our senses were assaulted by some superb efforts (and some not so superb), that were designed to knock the socks off potential employers. The CVs ranged from 3D models through to etched metalwork, and the judges were pretty much agreed on the shortlisted few. My favourite didn’t win despite my best efforts, but did win a runners-up prize. I think there’s some fantastic talent about to be unleashed on the creative scene, however, if any students are reading this, my top tip would be to spell-check your CV. No matter how beautifully it’s presented, nothing is more likely to put a potential employer off than a good, old-fashioned typo…
