Giving kids a sporting chance
In my first mentoring role with national charity sported, I have been matched with a fantastic organisation called Engage Communities. I’m going to be working with the community interest company to kick-start its Round House project which uses community-based Taekwondo and Boxing sessions to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop skills and qualifications. Getting involved in positive activities will help them to learn about discipline, perseverance, hard work and respect for others, meaning that they are less likely to get involved in anti-social behaviour. The organisation has been shortlisted for some funding from Lloyds Banking Community Fund, so if you can, please take a few seconds to vote for them, and give kids a sporting chance at a better future…
